Our Priorities for Artesia
Strengthening Public Safety & Neighborhood Security

Smart Policing
Ensuring our contract with the LA County Sheriff’s Department remains effective, responsive, and visible in our neighborhoods.

Neighborhood Partnership
Reinvigorating local neighborhood watch programs to create a "neighbor-helping-neighbor" culture.

Modernized Security
Supporting technology-driven safety solutions to deter property crime and protect our local small businesses.
Accountable Development & The "Artesia Standard"
The State has mandated new density, but the City Council ensures the quality. I will fight for a “High-Road” development strategy that prioritizes local workers and protects our neighborhoods.
"The state has mandated these changes, but they haven't mandated that we settle for less. I will be at the table making sure new projects are union-built, pay a living wage, and are backed by the infrastructure and security oversight that Artesia deserves."
- Dan Rocha

Union-Built, Family-Sustaining
I believe Artesia’s growth should support the middle class. I will advocate for Project Labor Agreements (PLAs) and prevailing wage requirements on major new developments to ensure they are built by skilled union labor.

Living Wages for Our Neighbors
Development isn't just about buildings; it's about people. I support policies that ensure those who operate and maintain new facilities in our city are paid a living wage with benefits.

Infrastructure & Traffic Oversight
As we transition toward Transit-Oriented Communities, I will prioritize comprehensive traffic flow studies. We must ensure our infrastructure is ready for new residents before the first shovel hits the ground.

Design Integrity
I will fight for "step-down" designs that respect the privacy of existing single-family homes and maintain the "small town" feel that makes Artesia home.
A Vibrant & Accessible Pioneer Boulevard

Construction Mitigation
Working directly with Metro to protect our small businesses from the dust and detours of rail construction, ensuring Pioneer remains "Open for Business."

Small Business Advocacy
Streamlining city permits to help our local "Little India" and legacy businesses thrive alongside new investments.

The "Last Mile" Connection
Ensuring our future light rail station is safe, walkable, and easy to access for Artesia’s seniors and students.
Excellence in Parks & Community Services

Park Revitalization
Completing the promised upgrades to A.J. Padelford and Artesia Park on time and on budget.

Inclusive Programming
Expanding city services for our youth and seniors, ensuring every resident has access to recreational and educational opportunities.

Fiscal Common Sense
Using my financial background to ensure your tax dollars are spent where they make the biggest impact: on our streets, our parks, and our safety.
